Chelsea have now set their sights on Barcelona full-back Aleix Vidal, as Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his back-line during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Spanish media outletAS, Conte is hoping to sign a quality back-up for Marcos Alonso or Victor Moses in the wing-back’s position, and sees Vidal as a suitable fit. The Italian tactician has also targeted Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
The 27-year-old Barca man didn’t have the greatest start to his career at Camp Nou having to wait for his debut quite some time due to the club’s transfer embargo in 2015, but a stellar rise in his performances made him a regular starter in Luis Enrique’s team this season.
However, just as things were starting to slide, his ankle injury two weeks ago has ruled him out for the rest of the season and is therefore being linked with a move away from the club.
The Spanish international could be great signing considering he’d be basically replacing Branislav Ivanovic in the wing-back’s role, where the big Serbian was clearly not meant for.
