World’s fattest woman lifted out of her bed by a CRANE after 25 years

The world’s fattest woman, Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty of Egypt was taken out of her home in Alexandria at the weekend after 25 years of not being able to move out of her bed.

The 36-year-old who weighs 78 stone, was taken out of her home and placed in an Egypt Air cargo plane where she was transported to India for life-saving surgery, several reports said.

It said MS Aty suffers from a condition called Elephantiasis, and will now have weight reduction surgery at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai, India.

The reports said on arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, she was placed in a mini truck and transported to hospital, where she will undergo a series of Bariatric procedures.

‘She, along with her sister Shaimaa Ahmed, arrived in Mumbai at around 4am to prepare her for the flight.

‘The team of doctors have been in Egypt for the last 10 days to optimise the conditions for her travel.

‘Given the fact that she is so heavy, and not moved for the last 25 years, she is at a high risk (of suffering) a pulmonary embolism.

‘(She) has been put on blood thinners to try and minimise the chances of such an eventuality during her transfer,’ a spokesperson for the hospital was quoted as saying.
