Fish seller in court for raping 7-year-old Almajiri

A Kaduna based non-governmental organization, Arridah Relief Foundation of Nigeria, has dragged a fish seller residing at Maraba Jos, Igabi local government of Kaduna State before a Sharia Court for forcefully having anal sex with a 7 year-old boy.
The Chairperson of the NGO, Hajiya Rabi Salisu Ibrahim, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Kaduna.
According to Hajiya Ibrahim, the victim who is an Almajiri at an Islamic School was raped more than 10 times by the fish seller at his shop located within the Maraban Jos Market, through his excretory organ without any form of protection.
While expressing anger over the increasing cases of rape at Maraban Jos, Kaduna, she noted, ”We have observed that poverty is one of the major attributing factor.”
She noted that the attitude of the rapist had caused damage to the education of the boy.
The boy in an interview confirmed that the fish seller always penetrated him through his anus.
He narrated, ”He gives me fish-head every time and begs me to allow him have sex with me through the anus.
”After doing it, he warned me against telling anyone or my Islamic school teacher about his sexual relationship with me.
“After, l discovered that excreta was dropping from my anus without control, I was worried but was afraid to report to my Islamic teacher.”
The Head teacher at the Islamic School of the victim, Mallam Adam Umar, said that he reported the case to the NGO after observing the boy’s attitudinal change for two days as he was unable to eat and could not move from one place to another.
The teacher who expressed sadness over the illicit act said the child was facing serious health challenge as he cannot excrete properly due to the serious damage done to his organ.
Mallam Umar, however, disclosed that the family of the rapist visited the school and sought for forgiveness.
“We looked at the critical situation of the child and decided to forward the case to Human Rights organization,” the head teacher narrated.
